It was nearly 70 degrees, partly sunny, and a gentle breeze. A near perfect day for a tennis match! Wakefield arrived to FCHS around 4:30 pm, and we paired up and got busy. Each match offered some excellent tennis. The highlight, however, was the #6 singles match between Falls Church's Peter Nguyen and Wakefield's Huy Nguyen which lasted over two hours! The match displayed excellent points with a variety of strokes. Peter demonstrated an uncanny use of volley, while Huy countered with lobs. In the end, however, Huy's lob won him the match. Luis shined in the #1 singles position, defeating Wakefield's #1, 10-1. Julio was up 4-1 until his opponent injured himself earning Julio a win by default. Jonah moved up to #1 doubles and proved himself to be an excellent compliment to Luis defeating Wakefield 10-0. Way to go Jags!
