The game started fast for the Jags against the Hayfield Hawks as their hitting, bunting, base running, pitching and defense were hitting on all cylinders. The Jags jumped out to a 10-1 lead before finishing the game with a win, and a 12-6 score.
David Mathis was spectacular on the mound in the first four innings allowing no hits and eventually earning the win. Michael Bruning pitched two innings and Nick Santos finished the game in the seventh.
The offense had multiple stars, but Gary Bornholdt stood out with his 3-4 night, a triple, RBI and 3 runs. Close behind were Nick Santos 3-3, 3 RBI, 2 runs, 3 stolen bases; David Mathis 2-4, 2 runs, 2 RBI; and Kevin Moore 2-5, 1 run, 3 RBI.
