The Falls Church Jaguars opened the season with a convincing win over the Mount Vernon Majors. David Mathis led the charge for the Jags, going 2 for 4 at the plate with 4 RBI. He also closed out the game in the 7th with two strikeouts.
Jack Gutermuth picked up the win with three innings of work, allowing only no earned runs while striking out four. Nick Santos pitched the middle three innings, allowed one earned run, with 2 strikeouts. Contributing with hits were Santos, Damian Yupari (double), Kevin Moore (RBI) and Gary Bornholdt.
A good team win to open the season for the Jaguars.
