On a cold clear day in Chantilly, Westfield HS was able to take advantage of 3 Falls Church errors to push across 3 unearned runs on their way to a 5-0 victory. Westfield pitching kept the Jags bats in check limiting them to only 2 hits (Carson Mayfield & Tyler James 1 each) while striking out 10.
Freshman Aidan Cunningham made his debut on the mound, striking out 4, and giving up only 1 hit and no runs over 3.1 innings. Starting pitcher Cameron Karicher stuck out 2 and gave up 3 hits, as both pitchers kept the Jags in the game.
Fall Church returns to the diamond on Tuesday opening National District play at Edison HS at 6:00pm.
