Falls Church watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 10-7 loss to Marshall on Tuesday. Marshall scored on a double by Patrick Halligan in the first inning, a passed ball during Corey Lauer's at bat in the second inning, a single by John Kerns in the second inning, a double by Daniel Hoffman in the second inning, and a single by Halligan in the second inning.
The Jags collected nine hits and Marshall had 13 in the high-scoring affair.
Falls Church notched four runs in the seventh inning. The offensive onslaught came from a walk by Matt Gutermuth and a double by Nate Moonis as the Jags rally come up short.
Ryan Bailey got the start for Falls Church and he surrendered three runs on four hits over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one. Cameron Karicher, Jonah Wilkes, Wyatt Mayfield, and Noah Lazo each entered the game as relief, throwing two innings, one inning, one inning, and one-third of an inning respectively.
