Fall Church snatched the lead late in the game in a 9-6 victory over Hayfield on Tuesday. The Jags were down down 6-5 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Noah Sedmak singled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.
The Jags fought back after allowing Hayfield to score four runs in the first inning. Hayfield's big inning was driven by a single by Alexander Guidinetti, by Sam Graziano, a fielder's choice by Kofi Aboagye-Nya, and an error on a ball put in play by Hunter McArille.
Ryan Clary led things off on the rubber for Falls Church. He went two and a third innings, allowing six runs on four hits. Wyatt Mayfield and Ryan Bailey followed on the mound and limited the Hawks to no runs on 5 hits.
Tyler James (2-3, 2 RBI, HR) led the Jags at the plate and Matt Gutermuh had 2 hits.
