Varsity Baseball Falls Late to Herndon HS

Falls Church out-hit Herndon High School nine to five, but it wasn't enough in a 6-2 loss on Tuesday
The Jags J opened up scoring in the second inning. Jabari Smith threw a wild pitch allowing Luke Strother to score and then Noah Sedmak lined a double down the LF line driving in Noah Strother.
In the bottom of the third inning, Herndon tied things up at two when an error scored two runs.
Herndon pulled away for good with one run in the fourth inning and added three runs in the sixth inning. Herndon batters contributing to the big inning included Evan Mills and Joe Wright, who all drove in runs.
Smith got the start for Herndon and he pitched an outstanding game, allowing seven hits and two runs over six innings, striking out seven.
Cameron Karicher started the game for Falls Church He went five innings, allowing four runs on two hits and striking out eight. Freshman Mike Keith made his varsity debut and threw one inning in relief.
Noah Strother and Matt Gutermuth each had multiple hits for Falls Church.
