2006 Chambersburg Cardinals Coach of the Year

Coach Johnson is a 22 year US Army Airborne Veteran  started his coaching career in 1981 while serving overseas in Germany, he served as a player coach for the Stuttgart Stallions, during this time Minor League American Football was just being introduced to Germany and Coach Johnson was proud to be a small part of expanding American Football to our European friends.

2010- 2016- Head Freshman Football Coach and Varsity Defensive Press Box Coach for Falls Church High School, Falls Church VA.

2013- Inducted into the American Football Association Hall of Fame

2009- Coach Johnson served as the defensive coordinator for the Military District of Washington (Warriors) a joint service team consisting of players from all branches of the US Armed Forces.

The Warriors played a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) schedule.

2008- Defensive Coordinator for the Chambersburg Cardinals Semi- Professional football team the team turned in 7-3 season.

2006 - Coach Johnson was named Head Coach and only coach for the Cardinals 2006 season.

In a season where he served as the solo coach, he coached every aspect of the game and lead the team to a 7-3 season, and into the second round of the North American Football League playoffs. 

This team produced 8 NAFL league all-stars.

Coach Johnson was selected to coach the 2006 defensive unit of the NAFL North All-Star Team to a victorious showing at the Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida.

2001-2005 - Served as the Defensive Coordinator for the Chambersburg Cardinals Semi-Professional Football organization.

Coach Johnson was selected to coach the Team USA National Team in Austria, but was unable to attend due to Prior obligations.

  2000 - Coach Johnson retired from the Army, and returned to his home in Northern Virginia where he coached the Baltimore Jaguars in the Mason Dixon Football League until relocating to Chambersburg Pennsylvania.

1997- 1999 - Coach Johnson returned to the minor league arena as the Defensive Coordinator for the Columbia Cougars in Columbia South Carolina

He was chosen to coach the South Carolina Minor League All-Star team defensive unit for both the 1998 and the 1999 squads achieving victories in both contest vs The North Carolina All-Stars.

1987-1990 Served as a player coach with the Bremerhaven Seahawks in the now established German Bundesliga, American Minor League Football League.

FAMILY: Coach Johnson is married to Cynthia , he is the father of two daughters, Tamika and Tamarra, and a Grandfather of five boys, Charles, Christopher, Hayden, Tyler, Chase and one granddaughter, Naomi.

GOAL: Coach Johnson plans to continue to bring his experience and aggressive style of coaching to his position, as the head coach of the Falls Church freshman football team, and along with his fellow coaches, help shape and prepare the Jaguars freshman to move on and continue the Jaguar tradition of winning.
